All visitors with a "B" in their disabled pass may bring along an accompanying person free of charge. A ticket is necessary for yourself. 

Accessibility information

  • The Little BIG City Berlin has no parking space of its own. Public parking is available in the "Alexanderplatz"/"Rotes Rathaus" area.
  • The nearest stop is "S+U Alexanderplatz".
  • The access to the building is stepless (door threshold of 2 cm).
  • All evaluated rooms that can be used by the guest are accessible at ground level or by elevator.
  • The elevator from the ground floor to the upper floor (exhibition) measures 157 cm x 264 cm. The passage width of the elevator door is 157 cm. 
  • All passageways/doors are at least 90 cm wide, except for the passage in front of the shop/exit (78 cm).
  • The entrance counter is 77 cm high at the lowest point, the counter in the shop is 90 cm high.
  • There are no seats in the exhibition.
  • The exhibits in the exhibition are mainly visible while sitting. Information is predominantly readable while seated.
  • The elevator outdoors at the gallery behind the exit measures 110 cm x 110 cm. The passage width of the elevator door is 90 cm. If the elevator is defective or insufficient, the elevator leading to the exhibition (see above) can alternatively be used in the opposite direction.
Public toilet for people with disabilities
  • The manoeuvring spaces are: in front of the washbasin 150 cm x 110 cm and in front of the WC 140 cm x 110 cm, to the left of the WC 90 cm x 70 cm and to the right of the WC 30 cm x 70 cm.
  • There are fold-up grab rails on both sides of the WC.
  • The washbasin has limited access.
  • There is an alarm trigger.

  • There is no visually clearly perceptible alarm.
  • In the elevators, an emergency call is confirmed audibly. Alternatively, stairs are available.
  • The information in the exhibition is provided in written form, or conveyed with films and audio clips. Background music is permanently playing in the large exhibition hall.
  • There is no audio induction loop.

  • Assistance dogs are welcome.
  • The evaluated areas that can be used by the guest are not consistently well lit.
  • The exhibits are generally well illuminated. Information in the exhibition is provided in written form, or conveyed with films and audio clips. Some of the exhibit signage is not easily legible. The lighting in the large exhibition hall changes regularly from "day" to "night" and is dominated by audiovisual effects.
  • There is no information in Braille.
  • An emergency call is confirmed audibly in the elevators. The operating elements and the signage are not visually rich in contrast, but can be tactilely detected.
  • The staircase for the staff, which can be used as an alternative to the elevator if required, is brightly lit and glare-free and has contrasting edges. The staircase outdoors behind the exit is not visually rich in contrast. Both staircases have handrails.

  • Name and logo of the exhibition are clearly recognizable from the outside.
  • The destination of the route is usually within sight.
  • There is no colored or pictorial guidance system.
  • Information in the exhibition is provided in written form, or conveyed with films and audio clips, but not provided in easy language.
